The negative influence of the thought of Big Brother and the Party in the proles’ life, all the lies of they say that perpetuated the political party. The psychological criticism is important to identify all the contradictions of people in the proles suffer because of the Big Brother political party. I found confusion and repression of the people of the proles, all of them must believe in the same way and that people that think differently is put in the Room 101 and condemned a life of torture by the Party members.
A Party member is expected to have no private emotions and no respites from enthusiasm. He is supposed to live in a continuous frenzy of hatred of foreign enemies and internal traitors triumph over victories and self-abasement before the power and wisdom of the Party. The sacrifices physiologically damages the self-esteem of any person also the effect of war in people’s life but the proles must to make sacrifices for the benefit of the Big Brother.
Big Brother thoughts must to be reflected in the proles’ lives, and “Whatever was written on the paper, it must have some kind of political meaning” also it is so delicate living in that kind of the society that everything that say or written will be certificated by the Thought Police. “The Party says the earth is flat”, “the party says that the ice is heavier than water” — “2+2=5” that kind of thoughts it is irreproachable, everything that Party says is the right thing, no one is have the truth in their hands, if the Party says lies for establish ideals about the society it is ok. All things are lies and no one complaint about it.
This story is ironical, because the author inspired a futuristic society and any kind of ideas that the Big Brother says it is true, if those thoughts are based in lies. The psychological criticism, the contradictions that exist in that twisted society, no one in the real world has to be so extreme when a person tries to establish a political party. Some contractions you can found in the story and it referred the fear that the Big Brother feel when he establish the socialist party, and he tries to created confussion in the proles’ life.
